How to Read a Custom Shower Project Case Study
A case study should prove more than taste. The useful record connects the original condition, the homeowner's constraint, the hidden assembly, the decisions made during the build, and the finished result. Parsons has on-site project videos available now. Detailed written case studies will only add facts that can be verified from project records.
The short answer
What matters most
Trust a case study when it distinguishes documented facts from general explanation, shows work before it was covered, and explains why the chosen method fit that particular room. A finished photograph alone is a portfolio image, not a construction case study.
What finished work can prove
Finished video can show layout balance, flatness under moving light, grout-line consistency, edge treatment, transitions, fixture alignment, and how the room reads at human scale. Video is often more revealing than a tightly cropped photograph.
It cannot prove the waterproof membrane, fastener treatment, drain connection, backing, coverage, or water test. Those require progress documentation.
What the middle of the build should show
The most informative project record captures the irreversible decisions.
- The condition after demolition and any damage discovered
- Framing correction and blocking before walls close
- Pan, drain, seams, corners, penetrations, niche, and curb waterproofing
- A marked water-test level before tile
- Layout control lines and the reason cuts land where they do
- Glass-ready openings and final flexible joints

We are intentionally not assigning an address, contract price, project duration, membrane specification, or repair narrative to those videos without the corresponding job record. That restraint makes future case studies more credible, not less complete.
The case-study standard going forward
Each future project record should include the homeowner's goal, existing condition, verified location at city level, major scope, assembly used, one meaningful constraint, one decision that changed the outcome, progress images, finished images, and a dated completion note.
Cost should be included only with permission and enough context to prevent a past project from becoming a misleading current quote. The same applies to timelines. Scope and site conditions belong beside every number.
Questions homeowners ask
Why not publish a made-up sample project?
Because invented specificity weakens trust. A useful sample can explain a method, but it should never be presented as a completed customer job.
